Health Policy Institute Of Ohio Announces New Board Appointments

Columbus, OH – Donald E. Hoffman has been named chair, and Leah Gary named vice-chair, of the board of directors of the Health Policy Institute of Ohio (HPIO). Both were instrumental in founding the Institute and have been members of the board since its conception.

Donald E. Hoffman serves as president and CEO of The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati. He is also the president and CEO of the Health Foundation Fund, a public charity that collaborates with other health agencies to improve healthcare access and social welfare.

Hoffman received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Miami University, and his master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati.

Leah S. Gary is Vice President for Program and Evaluation for Saint Luke’s Foundation in Cleveland. Her responsibilities entail the development of new grant making programs and tools for evaluating the effectiveness of the Foundation’s service to its mission.

Ms. Gary is a registered nurse and holds bachelor and master degrees in nursing from the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing of Case Western Reserve University and a diploma in nursing from the Fairview General Hospital School of Nursing.

HPIO an independent, nonpartisan organization that will forecast health trends, analyze key health issues, and communicate current research to Ohio policymakers, state agencies, and other decision makers. HPIO will also convene discussions on important health issues for Ohio by bringing together representatives from various sectors with a keen interest in health matters, including policy makers, providers, employers, advocates, health plans, consumers, state agencies, and researchers.

  • The George Gund Foundation (based in Cleveland)
  • The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati
  • The Mt. Sinai Health Care Foundation (based in Cleveland)
  • Saint Luke’s Foundation of Cleveland
  • Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton with the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland
